THE  BEST  OF  BROADWAY!

The long-awaited “Best of Broadway” is here.  This Saturday, October 18th, at 2:00 pm, the Galileo auditorium will be filled with song – glorious melodies from Broadway’s best shows sung by a talented cast of performers.  There will be selections from Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, and Chicago plus a few surprises.  Appearing in person will be Nick Thomas, Douglas Bryson, Pamela Brooks, Carol Rand, Leland Morine, and Patti Leidecker.  It promises to be an afternoon filled with nostalgia and unforgettable tunes.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.  Proceeds benefit Galileo Academy of Science and Technology.

TO ALL GALILEO ALUMNI

When you were at Galileo you were active students.  You wanted to be participants in your peer group.  You ran for office, played sports, joined clubs.  Now that you are out of school, working or retired, you have the opportunity to give something back to the school where you spent three or four years of your youth.  Especially for retirees, this is a chance to stay active, keep your mind alert, and participate in useful activities.  For all alumni, it can be the means of re-connecting with Galileo and your former classmates.

For recent grads and those in the classes of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, the Galileo Alumni Association needs your representation on its board and committees.  In order to make GAA a truly representative organization, we need to have the participation of as many different classes as possible.  A call goes out to former class officers, cheerleaders, club members and publication staffs to join GAA.

Attention:  Class Reunion Organizers!  When you are contacting classmates for your reunions, why don’t you tell them about the benefits of membership in GAA?  Any and all alumni are welcome at the monthly board meetings at 6:30 pm in Room 210 at Galileo every second Thursday of the month.*

Join now!  Use the membership form at the end of this newsletter.  You’ll be glad you did.

·        November’s meeting will take place on the first Thursday, November 6th.
